The idea for this restaurant started in our home kitchens, expanded into the kitchens of our catering clients, and we are ecstatic to have a local gathering place for our friends and neighbors.  


The dishes at Neighborhood Kitchen bring Asian and Haitian flavors to classic comfort foods.

Head Chef Eddie George (Chef Flexx) and Phouthanome ‘Joy’ Phoubaykham have over 20 years of combined experience professional catering services to a wide variety of clients for various occasions.  We have provided meals for intimate private gatherings to large parties, and understand the nuances for each.  

Our unique approach to preparing and serving food is inspired by our ethnic background and our upbringing.  Chef Flexx was inspired to make his passion a profession by studying the work and approach of Anthony Bourdain.  Having always been the one to take the lead with his mom in the kitchen to feed his large family, it was a natural progression to then pursue a formal culinary education before he ventured into the private catering realm, where his clients included high-profile personnel including professional athletes and celebrities.  Joy grew up in an environment where food has always played a major role in bringing others together.  As a first generation American, her family often hosted traditional Lao meals prepared by her mother and Joy was never far from the kitchen.  Joy worked in restaurants during her teenage years and put herself through college by waitressing, catering, and event coordination.  Joy’s incredible attention to detail and drive allows her to compliment Chef Flexx’s approach to food, and together they have seamlessly executed numerous events.

Our team brings a combination of Haitian and Asian flavors to our menu to ensure it is a unique, flavorful dining experience.  We understand the importance food plays in making an event a hit, but we also have a deep focus on the way we present the food to the stars of the event: the hosts and the guests.  We treat each client and their guests as if they were personal friends.  In addition, we have great respect for the planners who are coordinating all aspects of the event, and make sure our communication with these planners is concise, consistent, and honest.
